Nagaland kho-kho team to participate in national tourney

[dropcap]N[/dropcap]agaland Kho-Kho team participated in the 1st Junior East Zone National Kho-Kho Championship 2014-15 held in Guwahati from December 28-30, under the aegis of Kho-Kho Federation of India. The team was led by General Secretary Nagaland Kho-Kho Association Kanailal Das with 24 players (Boys and Girls) along with other officials. All together 17 team participated in the tournament in which Nagaland girls team secured 6th position and boys secured 7th position.
Renowned social and political worker from Nagaland Bishnu Bhattacharjee attended the closing ceremony on December 30 at Guwahati Sarusajai Stadium as special guest. While encouraging the players, he called on youths for more participation of local players in national games. He also distributed trophy to the winners.Others who attended the closing ceremony are Assam MLA Capt Robin Bordoloi as chief guest and Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (Guwahati) and president of East Zone Kho-Kho Association R P Barua along with M Madhusudhan Singh, General Secretary Kho-Kho Federation of India, East Zone and Aftab Hussain GS of Assam Kho-Kho Association.
Nagaland Team is also sending its players to 48th All India Senior National Kho-Kho Championship which will be held from January 7 at Bangalore. General Secretary of Nagaland Kho Kho Association will lead the team.
