Dimapur, March 3 (EMN): Nagaland’s 4th Senior and Junior (Boys and Girls) State Kabaddi championship, organised by Kabaddi Association Nagaland (KAN), was held at DDSC Stadium, Dimapur on Thursday.

ARTC G7 team emerged as the winner in senior (boys) category, while Public College of Commerce team and Wolf Kabaddi Club, Dimapur secured the second and third position respectively, an update informed.

Burma Camp Kabaddi Club emerged as the winner of the junior (boys) category. HMC School and SD Jain School secured the second and third respectively.

KV Dimapur won the junior (girls) category with HMC School and SD Jain School as the second and third position winners. 13 teams participated in the championship.

Ahidur Rahaman, working president of MCD and social worker, was the chief guest of the opening ceremony with Ghokuto as the guest of honour.

Rahaman lauded the efforts of KAN to encourage sports and said that local youths and students should participate in Kabaddi and play at the national level to bring laurels for the state.

Opening speech was delivered by Dr. Amos Lkr, president of KAN and the programme was chaired by Pooja Das Paul. Leaders from different communities of Dimapur attended the tournament to encourage participants and youth.
