Nagaland Junior Athletics Championships 2024 in August

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Athletics Association will organise the Nagaland Junior Athletics Championships 2024 on August 2 and 3 at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.

The competition will be held for boys and girls in the U-12, U-14, and U-16 age categories. Participation is open to any indigenous inhabitant of Nagaland, according to a press release.

For the U-12 category, boys and girls will compete in the 60 m race, long jump, and kids javelin throw. The U-14 boys and girls will compete in the 60 m race, 600 m race, high jump, long jump, and kids javelin throw, with boys additionally competing in shot put (3 kg) and girls in shot put (2 kg).

For the U-16 category, boys and girls will participate in the 100 m race, 300 m race, 800 m race, 2000 m race, high jump, long jump, shot put (4 kg for boys and 3 kg for girls), discus (1.25 kg for boys and 1 kg for girls), and javelin throw (600 g for boys and 500 g for girls).

Each athlete can participate in a maximum of two individual events. The last date for registration and age verification is July 27, 2024. Only Aadhar will be accepted as a valid document for age verification.

U-12 boys and girls must be born between November 11, 2012, and November 10, 2014. U-14 boys and girls must be born between November 11, 2010, and November 10, 2012. U-16 boys and girls must be born between November 11, 2008, and November 10, 2010.

Athlete registration will be conducted online via Google Form, with a registration fee of INR 100 per event. Participants must arrange their own accommodation and food. Athletes who perform well during the meet will be selected for a state-level intensive coaching camp.
