Department of Power Nagaland observes Smart Meter Pakhwada to promote awareness and smart meter installation across the state.

DIMAPUR — As part of the nation-wide “Smart Meter Pakhwada” programme being observed from February 9 to 23 under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), the Department of Power, Nagaland has joined the initiative to enhance consumer awareness and build confidence regarding the installation of smart meters.
In a press release, the Chief Engineer (D&R), Department of Power, stated that various activities are being carried out to disseminate information on smart meters and to address myths and doubts surrounding the technology. These include displaying posters and banners, distributing leaflets, setting up information kiosks at sub-division offices and other high-footfall locations, and conducting door-to-door outreach programmes.

The outreach teams are also assisting consumers in downloading the mobile application and demonstrating its usage in towns where smart metering work has commenced. The department has urged consumers to visit the designated information kiosks for any queries or clarifications regarding smart meters.
Further, consumers who have already had smart meters installed have been requested to download and register on the “Smart Meters Nagaland” mobile application, which is available on the Google Play Store.
