- DIMAPUR — As a mark of respect to Pope
Francis, Supreme Pontiff of the Holy See, who passed away on April 21,
Nagaland, along with the rest of the country, is observing three-day state
mourning.
- In a notification, the Home department stated that two days’
state mourning will be on April 22 (Tuesday) and April 23 (Wednesday). In
addition, one day’s state mourning will be on the day of the funeral (yet to be
announced).
- During the period of the state mourning, the national flag
shall be flown at half mast throughout the state on all buildings where the
national flag is flown regularly. There will be no official entertainment
during the state mourning, the notification stated.
