Nagaland jewellery label ‘Gutouch’ presents first show
The first jewellery fashion show in Nagaland “Cűmenyie” by Gutouch was presented on Sat. Sep. 28 at the Ura Academy Hall in Kohima.
The show presented works that had a mixture of traditions and modern designs, and Floral Heaven- representing a girl’s dream, elegant and feminine pieces.
The person behind Gutouch jewellery, Gugu Kuotsu, expressed gratitude to God for her work. She urged youngsters not to be lethargic or depend on parents but to work hard ‘as only through hard-work we can become someone.’
Kuotsu told youngsters that success was possible without the help of the government. “Focus on your work before anything,” she said. She said to have first started making jewellery during 2010-11 by collecting the unused jewelleries and training herself in the craft.
Model Ketholeno Kense was also at the show. She urged the youngsters saying that “there are a lot of things we can work out if we are creative.” She advised them: “if you are very unsure of anything, find a mentor, approach people and take the help of those who have been in your position before their success.” She said it is important for individuals to know what they want to do.
