Nagaland Inter-District and State Open Badminton C’ship underway
Dimapur, Sep. 3 (EMN): The 43rd Nagaland Inter-District and State Open Badminton Championship under the aegis of Nagaland Badminton Association (NBA) got underway at the DSCZ Stadium in Zunheboto on Tuesday, September 3 with Advisor, Food and Civil Supplies, Legal Meteorology and consumer protection and Justice and Law, Pukhayi and Advisor, School Education K T Sukhalu as special guests.
According to an update from the DIPR, the championship is being hosted by the Zunheboto District Badminton Association.
Special guest Pukhayi in his speech thanked the organisers for organising such a grand event. He added that badminton is a fine and attractive game and if one value our own health then one should take up playing badminton. He further exhorted the participants that it is not only about winning but participation that matters the most. He took an example of PV Sindhu, the current badminton world champion saying that hard work and determination always pays and will always take us to new heights. He also declared the championship open.
In the first senior match, Zunheboto district defeated Longleng district in straight sets, and in the second match, Peren district defeated Tuensang district, also in straight sets.
