Nagaland informs beneficiaries to avail 2nd dose of Covid-19 vaccine

Dimapur, May 12 (EMN): The Nagaland state Health department on Wednesday informed the beneficiaries due for the second dose of Covid-19 vaccination to avail it at the earliest, as the due time of six weeks (42 days) to eight weeks (56 days) fall in May.

Those eligible for the second dose have been asked “to carry their registered mobile phone and ID document used while getting their 1st dose, for their verification to police personals, volunteers etc, so that they don't face unnecessary harassment while going for vaccination”.

“As per Ministry order, priority is being given to 2nd dose beneficiaries so as to get them fully vaccinated. Thus the vaccination in each CVC will go in the 70:30 ratio (i.e. 70% booked for 2nd dose and 30% for 1st dose),” read the press release from State Immunisation Officer, Dr. Ritu Thurr.

It added that vaccination for eligible citizens will continue during the lockdown.

The district-wise breakup for beneficiaries due for second dose is: Dimapur- 7550, Kohirna- 3943, Kiphire- 271, Mokokchung- 5692, Mon- 3990, Peren- 1194, Phek- 1478, Longleng- 1275, Tuensang- 2293, Wokha- 3313, and Zunheboto- 1771.
