Nagaland: Imnatiba inaugurates school of excellence in skill development

Dimapur, Sep. 12 (EMN):  Advisor, Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Industries & Commerce, Imnatiba, on Monday inaugurated the first School of Excellence in Skill Development in Nagaland at Government Higher Secondary School, Sechu, Zubza.

A DIPR report stated that the advisor in his address said the School of Excellence in Skill Development in collaboration with the School Education (DoSE) and National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) is a new of initiatives taken up by the department in government schools.

The initiative is aimed at a paradigm shift to give new hope to the students and let them venture out into a new horizon, to let them get access to self-employment  and other avenues as even as the state is facing a huge unemployment problem.

Imnatiba encouraged the stakeholders, especially the educators and learners, to embrace the opportunity in motivating each other to make this project a success.

Secretary, L&E, SD & E department, Rajesh Soundararanjan, who also spoke at the event, said it was a proud moment for the three departments in translating thoughts into action.

He also said that it was a proof and testament that the government departments can always converge together in bringing out such innovative projects to fruition.

Director, School Education, Wonthungo Tsopoe, appealed the school management board not to run the school just for name sake but to be more serious so as to bring out the aims and objectives of the programme in the best possible way.

Director, NIELIT, L Lanuwapang, while congratulating the collaborating departments for such an initiative, expressed hope that through the project the importance of Information Technology will come into limelight.

Earlier director, DESD&E, Chiden Yaden, gave a brief highlight of School of Excellence in Skill Development. Yaden said the assigned syllabus will be done by NIELIT with a unique concept and the course will start from class VIII and culminate by class 10 so as to give opportunity to the students to get IT certificate while passing out HSLC exams. The certification will be done by NIELIT, it stated. Chairman, Sechu, Zubza, Khriengulie Kuotsu, also spoke on the occasion.
