  • NBSE introduces ‘Connect App- Question Paper Tracking’

  • DIMAPUR — The Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Examinations commenced across Nagaland on Tuesday, with 17,194 students appearing in 68 examination centres across the state.

  • Simultaneously, the Class XI Promotion Examination also commenced on Tuesday with 18,375 students appearing across 192 institutions.

  • For the HSSLC, out of 17,194 candidates, 546 will be appearing for the compartmental examination across all streams.

  • Under the main category, 12,403 candidates are in the arts stream, 1,026 in commerce, and 3,219 in science.

  • Both the examinations will continue till March 7.

  • A key highlight of this year’s examination is the introduction of the NBSE Connect App for question paper tracking, developed by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) and launched on January 21, 2025.

  • The app aims to ensure transparency and fairness in the conduct of examinations by providing real-time updates on the movement of question papers across districts, stated a press release from the board on Tuesday.

  • The concerned centre superintendents would take real time pictures in a time bound manner, which also collects the geo-location and the exact time stamp of the task completed. This way the board would be able to have real time update about the position of question papers of every examination centre conducting the examination for HSLC and HSSLC.

  • According to the NBSE, centre superintendents successfully uploaded time-stamped, geotagged photographs using the app in 65 out of the 68 examination centres on the first day.

  • Elaborating on the NBSE Connect App, it said that centre superintendents must first take a photograph upon arriving at the treasury office or bank between 7:30 am and 8:40 am, confirming their arrival.

  • A second photograph is taken when they receive the sealed question paper packets, followed by a third picture upon arrival at the examination centre’s control room to confirm that the packets remain sealed. This process has to be completed between 8:30 am to 9:00 am every time on the examination day.

  • After the examination, superintendents photograph the sealed answer scripts between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm before delivering them to the post office on the same day, also with photographic evidence. The entire process is closely monitored through the app, allowing the board to maintain strict oversight, it said.
