Nagaland: HSLC exam begins; problems with NBSE Connect app

  • KOHIMA — The High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2025, conducted by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), began on Wednesday with 23,267 students across 97 centres in the state appearing for the exam.

  • The exam will conclude on February 24, as per the routine issued by the NBSE.

  • The Principal of St. Mary’s Cathedral Higher Secondary School, Kohima, Fr. Vemedo Kezo, shared that a total of 333 students—98 males and 235 females—from six different schools are writing their HSLC exam at the SMHSS exam centre.

  • He also expressed that the exam is going on smoothly. Further, while expressing that the NBSE Connect app is a noble idea for maintaining transparency and accountability, he said that after fulfilling all the necessary steps, he is unable to use the app.

  • Another exam superintendent from Peren district opined that the NBSE Connect app is good but may not be user-friendly in Nagaland, as there are no proper internet and transportation facilities in many of the places in the state.

  • Meanwhile, another exam superintendent from Kohima shared that they were able to use the NBSE Connect app smoothly without facing any issues.
