Dimapur, Dec. 6 (EMN): The director general of Home Guards, Civil Defence and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Rupin Sharma, has assured to make recommendation to the state government for revision of salary for personnel under the department.
Sharma stated that at the Raising Day programme of Home guards, Civil Defence and SDRF of Tuesday held at Central Training Institute (CTI) ground, Toluvi. As the state government is implementing 7th revision of pay (RoP), he has assured to request the state government to revise their salary as per 7th RoP.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=6]He has appreciated the Home Guards, Civil Defence volunteers and SDRF personnel during the COVID-19 pandemic for their commendable job.
“Our work is something which the other normally do not want to do, but we should understand that this is a noble job,” he said.
He expressed gratitude to all the members for their humanitarian work during the worst time of COVID-19, where many were found absent from their responsibilities. Also stating traffic duty personnel are the public face of the Home Guards and Civil Defence, he stated that people will appreciate them if they do good job.
He further requested the members to register themselves and their family in the new CM health insurance scheme where they can get insurance cover and avail benefits for health.
During the programme, messages from various dignitaries including President of India, Droupadi Murmu; Union Home Minister, Amit Shah; Nagaland Governor, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi; Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, and others were read out by Mulai Lamniah, district commandant of Mokokchung.
Cultural item was presented by personnel from Zunheboto district and the welcome address was delivered by S Rotokha Zhimomi, commandant of CTI.
Awards were also presented to Phek district for overall champion and Mokokchung district for best discipline during the sports week, which was held from November 28 to December 6.
It was also mentioned that the ministry of Home Affairs, government of India, has announced Director General Bronze Disc and Commendation certificate to the personnel of Civil Defence and Home Guards. The recipients from Nagaland included ASI N Longtsubemo from Wokha district, Rongsennungba from Mokokchung district, Nalhuphu Nyekha from Phek district, T Nokyul from Mon district and Imrongnungba from CTI.
