Healthcare workers in Mon asked to improve reporting system
Members of District Health Society are seen attending a review meeting at the District Hospital in Mon town on Thursday.

Dimapur, Sep. 8 (EMN): The chief medical officer (CMO) of Mon, Dr. Vezokholu Theyo, reminded that the primary objective of National Health Mission (NHM) was to provide accessible, affordable and quality healthcare to the population at the grassroots.

She stated this during the District Health Society, Mon, review meeting held on September 8 in the conference hall of the District Hospital, Mon. Stating that one of the tools to indicate the mission being implemented successfully was through reporting system, she urged the members to utilise the service of Health Management Information System (HMIS) portal with quality reporting. She stated that district ranking would wholly depend on the key performance indicators, which are in the HMIS reporting system, an update from DHS Mon stated.

On the Village Health Nutrition Day (VHND), she stated that Mon district ranked in a good position, in collaboration with the Anganwadi workers of Social Welfare department. She further appreciated the healthcare workers for their committed service.

A powerpoint presentation was made by Block Programme Managers (BPM) on the 1st quarter FY 2022-2023, HMIS, issues and challenges faced by each blocks.

Vertical programmes of the department including national tuberculosis elimination programme (NTEP), mental health, universal immunisation programme (UIP), adolescent reproduction and sexual health (ARSH), school health, and national vector borne disease control programme (NVBDCP) also made presentations on their activities and briefed on their programmes.

Analysing on the report presentation of all the blocks, discussion hour was held led by the CMO, deputy CMO, MOs and DPM of the district.

It stated that the meeting began with an invocation prayer said by David Konyak, chaplain of DH, Mon.

The deputy CMO, Dr. Rongsennungla Ao, who chaired the meeting, welcomed all the participants especially the newly appointed CMO. She stated that the district was fortunate to have her with her immense knowledge and experience on the field of Health department.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Moie Bonnie Konyak, district programme manager, Mon.
