DIMAPUR — Health workers across the state have been advised to be ready and prepared with all measures to handle any scenario in the event of Mpox (Monkeypox) detection in Nagaland.
A press release on Thursday informed that the commissioner & secretary of Health and Family Welfare Anoop Khinchi relayed this message during a meeting of the State Health Emergency Operation Centre Committee members held in Kohima.
The members reviewed the public health preparedness of the department with regard to Mpox, which has been declared as Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) by the World Health Organisation.
“Officials of the department made a presentation to the commissioner & secretary on the status of public health preparedness of the department of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland.
“He urged for readiness of all the healthcare workers in all health units across the state, to take up the preparedness measures in all earnest so that the state is equipped to manage and handle any eventuality in the event of detection of Mpox in the state and thereby to reduce the impact of Mpox outbreak,” it stated.
