Nagaland: Health minister campaigns for BJP candidate in Singrep village
Dimapur, Oct. 23 (EMN): Nagaland health minister S Pangnyu Phom on Friday declared that “no other candidates shall be accommodated in PDA government except our official candidate Lirimong Sangtam”.
Phom made this declaration during a public meeting held at Singrep village, the native village of BJP candidate Sangtam who is contesting in the bye-election from 60-Pungro-Kipheri assembly constituency.
The minister asserted that Singrep village council has to come forward to carry the candidature of Sangtam in order to reach out to the surrounding villages, an update from the BJP media cell stated on Friday.
He stated that Sangtam was chosen by the PDA government as its consensus candidate in order to usher in peace and development in the region.
“He shall not only represent you in the state assembly, but shall be there to mediate peace amongst the various communities living in the district,” said Phom.
Clearing the air created by rumourmongers, the minister said: “There is no such difference between the NDPP and BJP alliance partners as claimed by our opponents.” He also urged the public not to be swayed by various propaganda being spread by unscrupulous individuals with vested interest to create discord within the alliance.
Stating that a blessing has reached the doorstep of Singrep village and Pungro-Kiphire, Phom said it is now for the people whether to receive the blessings or not.
He further urged the public not to look at the candidate alone but to concentrate on central leadership of the prime minister Narendra Modi, union Home minister Amit Shah and BJP national president Nadda and also the PDA alliance leaders such as the state chief minister Neiphiu Rio, deputy chief minister Y Patton, state BJP president Temjen Imna Along, and NDPP president Chingwang Konyak, who are at the forefront of the PDA coalition government.
