New health facilities are inaugurated in Changki and Longnak as part of ongoing efforts to boost rural healthcare in Nagaland.

DIMAPUR — Dr. Mereninla Senlem, Principal Director of Health and Family Welfare, inaugurated the new building for the Health and Wellness Centre in Changki, while Advisor for Transport and Technical Education Temjenmenba inaugurated the Primary Health Centre in Longnak on Thursday.
According to an update, the inaugurations were part of an ongoing departmental district tour.
Addressing the participants during the inauguration, Dr. Senlem stated that this is a gift from the Government of India for all the people, bringing healthcare to the doorstep.
She urged the community to maintain a healthy lifestyle to prevent the rise of non-communicable diseases and mental health issues in the current age. Also, she lauded the participation of the community and urged continual contributions to support the growth and upkeep of the health centre, making way for a better health system.

Advisor Temjenmenba, upon inaugurating the Primary Health Centre in Longnak, lauded the efforts made by the village councils around Longnak, the contributions made by landowners, and the participation of the community in reaching this milestone.

He urged the health workers to put continual efforts into the service of humanity.
Meanwhile, a team from the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Kohima, along with officials from the office of the Chief Medical Officer, Mokokchung, made a visit to the Primary Health Centre in Sabangya and also inspected the ongoing construction sites of the Primary Health Centre in Khensa and the Ayush Hospital in Chungtia.
The team also visited the Community Health Centre in Mangkolemba and held a coordination meeting with the representatives of the administration, Health Centre Management Committee, community-based organisations, faith-based organisations, and staff of the health centre at the ADC office hall in Mangkolemba.
The directorate team will inspect the construction sites at the Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital and will hold a district review meeting on April 17.
