Nagaland: Health department cautions erring surveillance workers
Dimapur, July 1 (EMN): The deputy director of health under National Centre for Vector Borne Disease Control (NCVBDC), Dr. Nitovi Shikhu, informed that the surveillance workers (SW) would be given three months observation period for improvement in their duty and warned that the salary of those workers who consistently fail to perform their duty, would be held up besides leading to termination of service.
Dr. Nitovi stated this during the review meeting of Tuensang District Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (DVBDCP) with the team of state programme officers held in the conference hall of the chief medical officer (CMO) in Tuensang town on June 30.
An update from the CMO’s office stated that the monitoring and supervision team was led by Dr. Nitovi. He was accompanied by NCVBDC state public health and training consultant, state monitoring and evaluation consultant, state IEC/ BCC consultant and state finance consultant.
During the meeting, DVBC Yimliyangla made a powerpoint presentation on the target and achievement of surveillance workers in the district.
Report further that the house discussed on various issues like the poor performance of the district, submission of quality reports and grievances faced by health workers in the field etc., during the meeting.
