Nagaland has spent INR 88 cr. in fight against Covid-19

Kohima, May 25 (EMN): Nagaland state has spent about INR 88 crore in preparation and fight against the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) so far, according to an official.

Chief Secretary of Nagaland Temjen Toy said that the state government has spent close to INR 60 crore on health sector alone, starting with purchase of personal protective equipment (PPE), ambulances, ventilators, bio-safety level laboratories (BSL-3 at Kohima and BSL-2 at Dimapur), and other health-related expenses.

Besides that, almost INR 3 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund has been spent on helping stranded people, while about INR 25 crore has been spent for providing food to migrants, hiring of trains, and monetary assistance to the distressed and stranded citizens of Nagaland staying outside, including financial help of INR 10,000, INR 4,000 and INR 3,000, Toy said.
