Nagaland is introduced to what is believed to be the first Android-based mobile game in the state. The game is called ‘Color the World’ which has been designed and developed by a self-taught “game designer” Liyo Kikon. Kikon is also the managing director of local entertainment group Headhunters Entertainment. The game has been released “worldwide” on the internet. ‘Color the World’ is an adventure/puzzle game with more than a hundred puzzles, spread across 48 levels and three unique characters with different abilities. Each level is a country environment with its own landmarks as backdrops.
The objective of the game is to collect all the color blocks from each level by solving various physics-based logic puzzles. Liyo designed the concept, did the artwork of all the continents and countries, graphics, animation, software coding and incorporating the ‘Physics’.
After taking sabbatical leave from his Naga Headhunters Entertainment venture, Liyo started reading tons of e-books and YouTube tutorials to learn the art of game development, a source informed.
He is said to have started ‘playing around’ with the software required for designing mobile games. Pages of books were used to draw the stages while the characters were created using just color pencils.
Liyo wishes that the younger generation would be inspired to take up technology, innovation and start using the internet for productive purposes to come up with wonderful inventions and innovations to take the Nagas to the next level and become a progressive society.
Color the World can be downloaded for free on Android phones from ‘www.blackgreen.net.’
