Nagaland has 1777 DDU-GKY trained candidates

Dimapur, Nov. 29 (EMN): Out of the total 1777 candidates trained under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) in Nagaland, 1533 candidates were assessed and 899 youth have joined the industry workforce as on 2021-2022.

It may be recalled that during the first DDU-GKY Employers Meet, organised by Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM), the commissioner and secretary of Rural Development, Neposo Thelou, stated that DDU-GKY scheme was first launched in Nagaland between the periods of 2018-19 through the NSRLM.

In the last three years, NSRLM has trained over 4510 rural youth in different trades ranging from construction to tailoring and food and beverage service to solar panel installation out of which a total of 2082 youth have joined the industry workforce.

In terms of Northeast state-wise distribution of candidate trained under DDU-GKY as on 2021-2022, Assam has the highest number of candidate trained with a total of 53321 out of which 29900 got placements at various trades followed by Tripura with 6983 candidates being trained of which 3215 candidates got placement and Manipur stands at third with a total of 2809 candidates being trained of which 1049 candidates found job placements.

As on 2021-2022, a total of 11, 28,301 candidates were trained under DDU-GKY in the country, out of which 6, 63, 113 candidates youth have joined the industry workforce.
