Nagaland has 1375 surplus police personnel

Dimapur, Jan. 11(EMN): Nagaland has a surplus of 1,375 state police personnel with the total strength being 28,113 while the sanctioned strength of state police is only 26,738.

According to the data on police organisation as on January 2020, released by bureau of police researcher and development under the Ministry of Home Affairs, the state police include civil, district armed reserve (dar), special armed and IRB.

The data has been prepared on the basis of the data provided by the states/UTs, CAPFs and other central police organisation. Data has also been obtained from the Registrar General of India (RGI) and the Survey of India (SOI), it stated.

Sanctioned (S) and actual (A) strength of police forces in-
Civil police: Sanctioned strength is 5,615; Actual strength is 5,832
DAR: Sanctioned strength is 2,633; Actual strength is 3,352
State Armed Police: Sanctioned strength is 12,648; Actual strength is 13,067
IRB: Sanctioned strength 5,842; actual strength is 5,862.

Nagaland has one battalion of commando, and there are two ASP/DY SP/Asst commandants, 13 SI/RSI, 46 head constable, 455 constable and 82 others.

Under the department of Traffic police in Nagaland, the total sanctioned is 156 but the actual strength stands at 376. There is one under AGP/SSP/Commandant, two under SSP/Dy. SP/ Asst Commandant, eight under SI/RSI though sanctioned strength is four, 16 under ASI/ARSI though sanctioned strength is ten and 333 constables though sanctioned strength is 128.

Total strength of women police in Nagaland is 2,739 with one IRB women battalion. In the Civil police category, there are 690 women police; 35 SI/RSI, 83 Head constable and 536 constable.

There are 315 women police under district armed reserve police in Nagaland; three AIGP/SSP/SP/Commandant, one ASP/DY SP/ Assistant commandant, 236 Inspector and 75 constables
Nagaland has 800 women police under the Special Armed Police Battalion; one AIGP/SSP/SP/Commandant, three ADDL. SP/Dy. Commandant, 5 ASP/DY SP/Asst commandants, two inspector/RI, 21 SI/RSI, 193 head constable and 575 constables.

There are also 934 women under IRB battalion; six ADDL. SP/DY. Commandant, two ASP/Dy. SP /Asst Commandant, 22 SI/RSI, 220 head constable, 648 constable and 36 others.

Under the category of Traffic police, there are 374 women police; one AIGP/SSP/Dy. commandant, eight SI/RSI, 16 ASI/ARSI, 16 head constable and 333 constables.
