Dimapur, Jan. 6 (EMN): Nagaland has a total of 1317632 electors including 661489 male and 656143 female. Nagaland chief electoral officer, V Shashank Shekhar, informed this during the release of the final electoral roll with reference to January 1, 2023, as the qualifying date which was prepared and published by the respective electoral registration officers of all the districts in the state. According to the CEO, there are 1309651 general electors including 653616 male and 656035 female. Besides, there are 7981 service electors including 7873 male and 108 female. The CEO further informed that the final electoral rolls could be checked/ downloaded from the office’s website www.ceo.nagaland.gov.in.
Meanwhile, the deputy commissioners, ADCs, district electoral officers and electoral registration officers of various districts have announced the final publication of electoral rolls in their respective districts.
Kohima: The final publication of the electoral roll for Kohima district was published on Thursday in the DC's office chamber, Kohima. The DC and DEO Kohima of Shanavas C, in his introductory remark, stated that the draft roll which was published on November 9, 2022, with total electors of 1, 22,459 in Kohima district, has recorded a net increase of 1,222 electors bringing the total final e-roll electors to 1,23,681 after the revision.
Shanavas also informed that a lot of similar entries have been detected during the revision, which are under process for necessary correction. He urged the political parties to note it and extend their full cooperation and support for free and fair conduct of the election.
Meanwhile, ADC & ERO Kohima, Rhosietho Nguori, informed that the list of amendments to the draft electoral roll for the 8-Western Angami, 9-Kohima Town, 10-Northern Angami-I, 11 Northern Angami-II, 14-Southern Angami-I and 15-Southern Angami -II assembly constituencies has been prepared with reference to January 1, 2023, as the qualifying. A copy of the roll together with the amendments has been published and will be available for inspection at the ADC office and with the booth level officers.
Zunheboto: The additional deputy commissioner and electoral registration officer of Zunheboto has notified that the list of amendments to the final electoral roll for 31- Akuluto, 32-Atoizu, 33-Suruhuto, 34-Aghunato, 35-Zunheboto and 36- Satakha assembly constituencies has been prepared with reference to January 1, 2023, as the qualifying date and in accordance with the Registration of Electoral Rules, 1960. An official update informed that a copy of the roll along with the list of amendments have been published and will be available for inspection at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Zunheboto.
Chümoukedima: The deputy commissioner and DEO of Chümoukedima, Abhinav Shivam, on Thursday issued the draft e-roll for 4-Ghaspani-I and 5-Ghaspani-II assembly constituencies under Chumoukedima district, to the political parties by at DC conference hall.
Tuensang: The DC & DEO Tuensang, Nokchasashi, notified that the electoral rolls for all the polling stations of four assembly constituencies under Tuensang district has been published on Thursday in the DC's office conference hall (Circuit House).
During the programme, the DC requested all the political parties to look forward to a clean and fair election. Nokchasashi also urged the stakeholders to take responsibility during the SVEEP activities and sought cooperation and support for the successful conduct of the upcoming election. He also requested all the political parties to appoint booth level agents.
Further, the DC notified that the list of amendments to the draft electoral roll for the 51-Noksen, 52-Longkhim-Chare, 53-Tuensang Sadar-I and 54-Tuensang Sadar -II assembly constituencies has been finalised.
