DIMAPUR — Nagaland has a total of 1308848 electors including 656043 male, 652802 female and 3 third gender. This was announced by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Nagaland, published on January 10 by respective electoral registration officer of all the districts in the state except for 43 Tapi Assembly Constituency (AC) with reference to January 1, 2024, as the qualifying date.
The total general electors in the state as per the final published roll included 648396 male, 652693 female and 3 third gender. As per the publication, there are a total of 7756 service electors including 7647 male and 109 female. The office informed that the final electoral rolls could be checked/ downloaded from the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, website at www.ceo.nagaland.gov.in.
Meanwhile, the additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of Kohima, Rhosietho Ngouri, has handed over the final publication of e-roll to all the different political parties during a meeting held in his office’s conference hall on Wednesday.
Speaking at the meeting, he informed that there are 121880 electors in the district including 58515 male and 63365 of female. He acknowledged the support and cooperation of all the political parties for enabling to complete the revision work on time.
He also informed that the list of amendments to the draft electoral roll for 8-Western Angami, 9-Kohima Town, 10-Northern Angami-I, 11-Northern Angami-II,14-Southern Angami-I and 15-Southern Angami-II Assembly Constituencies have been prepared with reference to January 1, 2024, as the qualifying date and in accordance with the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960.
He further informed that a copy of the said roll together with the said list of amendments has been published and would be available for inspection at his office.
In another programme, the deputy commissioner (DC) of Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, released the final publication of the photo electoral roll in his office’s chamber on Wednesday.
Dr. Chang thanked all the political parties for their cooperation during the summary revision of the electoral roll.
Mhalo Humtsoe, ADC and electoral registration officer of Dimapur, informed that a total number of 1712 electors were added and 549 electoral were deleted. According to her, there are a total number of 120749 electors in Dimapur.
Humtsoe also informed that inclusion and deletions is a continuous process and it would be continuously updated. She, therefore, requested the political parties to appoint the block level officers (BLO) to provide correct number of electors.
Report stated that representatives from all the recognised political parties were present during the release of final publication. The hard copies of final electoral roll were also handed over to the political parties during the event.
