Dimapur, March 9 (EMN): In an attempt to accelerate infrastructure development in Nagaland, Governor RN Ravi had a review meeting with the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) at Vamuzo Memorial Town Hall, Chozuba, on Tuesday, to discuss the progress of several road projects.

A press release from the Raj Bhavan informed that the progress of projects like two-lanning of Kohima-Jessami road (109.32 km), Chakabama-Zunheboto road (115.53 km) and  Pfutsero-Phek road (62.56 km) were reviewed at the meeting.

The governor advised the deputy commissioners of concerned districts to concerted effort in solving “local issues which cause avoidable delay in completion of the projects on time” and “directed the concerned contractors to mobilise adequate resources – men, material and machines to achieve the target”.

While urging all the agencies to work as a team, Ravi took serious note of lackadaisical approach of some departments, not carrying out works despite disbursement of funds by the NHIDCL about two to three years ago. The press release went on to add that the inaction of some departments has led to unnecessary delay in the progress of projects.
