Dimapur, May 15 (EMN): Nagaland Governor RN Ravi has expressed shock and sadness at the demise of Manli Phom, wife of late Bautung Phom who one of the founding fathers of Nagaland state, at Tamlu on Saturday.
“Shrimati Manli Phom will be remembered for being the force behind her husband Late Shri Bautung Phom who was martyred soon leaving the entire responsibility of his family on her shoulders at a very young age. She will be remembered also for her love and warmth towards her people.
“Story of her life will ever remain an inspiration for those who fearlessly dedicate their lives to the genuine cause of the suffering people,” read the condolence message from the Raj Bhavan to C Henkup Phom, grandson of the deceased.
“I on behalf of the people of Nagaland and on my own behalf, convey our heartfelt condolences. I also pray to God to give strength to the family to bear the loss and grant them peace and solace at this hour of pain. May her soul rest in eternal peace,” it added.
