Nagaland Governor, Chief Minister extend Thuni greetings

Dimapur, Jan. 4 (EMN): Nagaland Governor RN Ravi and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio have conveyed greetings to the Chakhesang community as well as the people of the state on the occasion of Thuni festival.

Thuni is an annual post-harvest festival celebrated by the Chakhesang community on January 5.

“It is a Thanksgiving festival for a bountiful harvest and good health. Thüni promotes significant virtues such as equity, friendship, peace, purity and originality,” read Ravi’s message.

“As we celebrate this beautiful festival, let us continue to be steadfast in following Covid-19 protocols. On this auspicious occasion, I wish everybody good health, peace and prosperity. God bless you all!” it added.

Rio also took to Twitter to convey his greetings to the Chakhesang community on the occasion.

“Greetings to those celebrating Thuni festival from the Chakhesang community of Nagaland. May the festival bring blessings for another bounteous harvest, good health and unity among everyone,” he wrote.
