Dimapur, Jan. 14 (EMN): Nagaland Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Friday extended Sökrönye greetings to the Chakhesang community and the people of the state.

“Sökrönye is a harvest festival and the essence of this beautiful festival is the sanctification of the Chakhesang community. Rituals involved are meant to purify the souls, and the children also learn the rich spiritual and cultural practices,” read the greetings from Mukhi.

He also wished everyone a safe and a joyous festival.

Rio also took to Twitter to greet the Chakhesang community on the auspicious occasion.

“Happy Sökrönye to the Chakhesang community. May the festival bring blessings of good health, fruitfulness in every endeavour and blessed beginnings. I wish you all a safe and a happy Sökrönye,” he wrote.
