Dimapur, Sep. 2 (EMN): Nagaland Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio have extended greetings to the Sangtam community and the people of the state on the occasion of Mongmong festival.
Mongmong is a beautiful festival celebrated for a good harvest and a time of togetherness, sharing of produce and forgiveness, wrote Mukhi.
‘Sanitation and repairing of public infrastructure are carried out by the villagers during this time. Traditional rituals performed reflect the importance of the villagers to live in harmony with the environment. Love, care and unity are the wonderful essence of this festival,’ read the greeting.
“On this auspicious occasion, I wish you all good health, happiness and prosperity,” it added.
Rio also took to Twitter to greet the Sangtam community on the auspicious occasion.
“Mongmong greetings to our brothers and sisters from the Sangtam community. May the essence of the festival of togetherness strengthen bonds and the Almighty answer our prayers for a bountiful harvest and good health,” he wrote.
