Nagaland Governor, Chief Minister extend Moatsü greetings

Dimapur, May 1 (EMN): Nagaland Governor RN Ravi and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio have extended Moatsü greetings to the Ao community and the people of the state.

An update from Raj Bhavan stated that Moatsű festival, which is celebrated after seed sowing, provides time for recreation after stressful activities of clearing fields, burning jungles, sowing seeds, cleaning up the wells and, repairing and construction of houses.

“During this time of celebrations, the villagers celebrate their friendship for each other by exchanging gifts, making new friends, feasting, bonfire etc., thereby reinforcing the strong community bonding through this festival. It is also an occasion for the youth to get connected with their community roots and carry on the centuries old traditional legacy,” read the message.

He wished everyone good health, peace and happy celebrations.

The CM also took to Twitter to extend his greetings.

“Happy Moatsü to the Ao community of Nagaland. Moatsü is a time for festivity after the seeds have been sown in the fields. I hope the Almighty bless you with a bountiful harvest. My best wishes for everyone’s well-being,” he wrote.
