Nagaland Governor, Chief Minister extend Hunapongpi greetings

Dimapur, Aug. 17 (EMN): Nagaland Governor RN Ravi and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio have extended greetings to the Sangtam community and the people of the state on the occasion of Hunapongpi festival.

‘The celebration of Hunapongpi is to display affection and care for one another. Children are the prominent participants in this festival whereby they learn to preserve the beautiful culture displayed in the form of folk songs, dances and traditional sports,’ read Ravi’s message.

“It provides an opportunity to understand and appreciate the beauty of the underlying ancient philosophies of the community,” it added, while wishing the people “happiness, good health and prosperity”.

Rio also took to Twitter to greet the Sangtam community on the auspicious occasion.

“Greetings to the Sangtam community on the occasion of Hunapongpi. Best wishes for blessings of peace and the well-being of everyone,” he wrote.
