Nagaland Governor, Chief Minister extend Dussehra, Durga Puja greetings

Dimapur, Oct. 13 (EMN): Nagaland Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio have conveyed greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Dussehra and Durga Puja.

Mukhi said that the festival celebrates the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana and the triumph of Goddess Durga over demon Mahishasura.

“This beautiful festival is a celebration of victory of truth over falsehood, triumph of the righteous and defeat of evil,” read the message.

“May this auspicious occasion inspire us to follow the path of virtue and guide us towards oneness, amity, happiness and prosperity,” it added.

Rio also took to Twitter to extend his greetings to the people.

‘Durga Puja/ Dussehra greetings to all those who are celebrating. May the auspicious occasion foster brotherhood and bring blessed beginnings in everyone’s lives,’ he wrote.
