- DIMAPUR — The All Nagaland College Students’
Union (ANCSU) also expressed disapproval of the Nagaland government’s decision
to keep in abeyance the absorption of 147 assistant professors and librarians.
- In a statement, the ANCSU highlighted that it had previously
appealed to the government via a letter dated April 19, urging a rollback of
the absorption order, considering the interests of students, aspirants, and the
sanctity of academic institutions.
- “However, the state government disregarding this issue even
after several representations from various organisations, evidently
demonstrated the failure of its commitment towards educational welfare of
students in the state,” the ANCSU stated.

current situation does not disrupt the upcoming Undergraduate Even Semester
Examinations, scheduled to take place from May 5 to May 29, and that results
are declared on time.
- "Should the government fail to act with urgency, the
union, in compliance with the Naga Students' Federation (NSF) Ultimatum dated
April 21, 2025, will be compelled to initiate democratic agitations in defence
of students’ and aspirants' rights," the statement read.
- It expressed hope that the government will prioritise the
needs of students and uphold public accountability to prevent potential unrest
within the educational institutions.
