Kohima, July 11 (EMN): The government of Nagaland has welcomed the decision of the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) to forgive the erring officials with regard to the May 26 Tuensang returnees’ incident.
The minister for Planning and Co-ordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, Neiba Kronu shared this message of gratitude on Saturday.
“We appreciate the wisdom of ENPO for understanding the government and deciding to forgive,” he said.
“We will always try to understand each other’s problems and work together in cohesion in the interest and welfare of the state,” Kronu, who is also the state government’s spokesperson, said.
Meanwhile, he reiterated the decision of the high powered committee (HPC) to bring out a new single standard operating procedure (SOP) for all purposes in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic in Nagaland, including returnees and lockdown measures.
Stating that drafting of the new SOP and guidelines has begun, he stated it would take some more time to come into effect as ‘thorough study will be made so as to avoid any confusion’.
Further, he informed that the current SOP on returnees and lockdown guidelines would remain in force till the time a fresh one is issued.
