Dimapur, Feb. 19 (EMN): With the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examinations 2022 just a few weeks away, the state’s Home department has issued safety measures for students and staff to prevent the spread of the disease during the conduct of the exams.

The HSLC exams will be held in offline mode from March 9 to the 22nd and the HSSLC exams from March 8 to the 31st.

The order stated that only 50% capacity will be allowed in the examination hall. All the invigilators, examiners etc. at examination centres should be asymptomatic and fully vaccinated (taken both doses) against Covid-19 or tested negative for the disease once in every 15 days.

Symptomatic candidates or students, who are physically fit, can appear for exams in a separate room by producing a Covid negative report taken not earlier than 48 hours.

However, those tested positive for the virus won’t be allowed to take the exam. They will be given another chance to appear for the subject they couldn’t write, at a later date within this year.

Students will be allowed to carry pocket hand sanitiser (50ml), water in transparent bottles and other essential items. The order went on to state that students, invigilators, examiners and everyone involved in conducting the exams should follow Covid-appropriate behaviour including wearing of face mask at all time.
