Nagaland got INR 45.75 cr. from Khelo India Scheme till date
DIMAPUR — Since its inception in 2018, the Khelo India Scheme has allocated INR 2,168.78 crore for the development of sports infrastructure nationwide, according to the Khelo India Scheme dashboard.
To date, Nagaland has received INR 45.75 crore in funding under the Khelo India Scheme, but the state has not yet had any Olympic participants since the scheme began.
The highest fund allocation was for Uttar Pradesh, with INR 438.27 crore, and the state has seven Olympic participants this year. Gujarat follows with INR 426.13 crore in funding and two Olympic participants this year.
Haryana has the highest number of Olympic participants, with 24 out of 117 from the country, despite receiving INR 66.59 crore in funding under the Khelo India Scheme. Punjab follows with 19 participants and a fund allocation of INR 78.02 crore, while Tamil Nadu has 13 participants and INR 20.40 crore in funding.
Under the scheme, a total of 323 infrastructure projects have been sanctioned. Of these, 198 projects have been completed, 88 are ongoing, and 37 are yet to start.
In Nagaland, 11 projects have been sanctioned. Of these, six have been completed, two are underway, and three are yet to start.
Among the other northeastern states, Arunachal Pradesh has received the highest funding, with INR 148.91 crore allocated for 21 projects. Manipur, with eight projects, has a fund allocation of INR 46.71 crore.
Assam has received INR 43.68 crore for eight projects; Meghalaya, INR 15.28 crore for six projects; Mizoram, INR 31.73 crore for seven projects; Sikkim, INR 24.64 crore for seven projects; and Tripura, INR 32.30 crore for seven projects.
