Nagaland GIS and Remote Sensing Centre launches 14-day FPV Drone Training Programme in Kohima under NSEDM to empower youth with high-precision piloting skills.

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland GIS and Remote Sensing Centre (NGISRSC), through its Drone School – Drone Centre of Excellence in Kohima, commenced a 14-day First Person View (FPV) Drone Training Programme on January 27 under the Nagaland Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Mission (NSEDM).
According to a DIPR report, the training aims to develop high-precision piloting skills and immersive control techniques vital for real-world drone applications.
Ten selected candidates are participating in this intensive training module, structured to provide practical expertise in FPV drone assembly, simulator-based flight training, live operations, aerial manoeuvring, safety protocols, and basic troubleshooting.
On successful completion, candidates will be awarded a Certificate of Completion, certifying their proficiency and readiness for entry-level drone operations and services. Droneverse Aviation Pvt. Ltd., the industry partner for NGISRSC, will provide placement support along with practical exposure in drone-based service sectors.

The update stated that this initiative is a significant step under the state’s broader strategy to empower youth, create technology-driven livelihood opportunities, and build a robust drone ecosystem in the state.
The FPV training also complements upcoming DGCA-certified Remote Pilot Courses and other specialised non-DGCA modules in drone maintenance and sector-specific drone operations.
