Kohima, Sep. 27 (EMN): The alarming rate of unemployment in Nagaland has forced many youths to venture outside the state in search of jobs.
However, these courses sometimes come with pitfalls as some end up involving in illegal activities.
On September 26 afternoon, Pundliknagar police in Maharashtra arrested four women from Nagaland—two receptionists and two helpers—after raiding Ellora Spa Centre from where a flesh trade had been operating.
A local source confirmed this to Eastern Mirror and informed that the “flesh trade” was being run at N-4 Cisco locality on Pundliknagar Road under the guise of running a spa.
Police has filed a case against the spa operators, Dattu Mane, Amol Bhalerao and Sandeep Bhalerao, it was informed.
The source further informed that two girls from Nagaland who recently had arrived from Delhi and joined the spa were also ‘rescued’ by Pundliknagar Police on the same day.
Meanwhile, police in Vedantnagar in Maharashtra, are looking for a former employee of a spa who had filed a complaint against the operator, alleging the latter of running a sex racket under the guise of a spa in Konkanwadi area in Maharashtra.
The former employee, a woman, had alleged that girls from other states, including Nagaland, were working there as employees.
Irked by non-payment of her salary for nine months, she had filed a complaint at Vedantnagar police station on September 24.
A reliable source confirmed this to Eastern Mirror that there were young women from the city and other states, including Nagaland, who work at the spa.
It was learnt that the woman from Padegaon had made an anonymous complaint to the commissioner of police. Now the police are searching for her, it was informed.
“The investigation is going on after which the details will be out,” said the source.
