Nagaland received INR 552.83 crore under PM-DevINE since 2022, with INR 263.41 crore released and utilised by March 2026
KOHIMA — Nagaland has received projects worth INR 552.83 crore under the Prime Minister's Development Initiative for North East Region (PM-DevINE) since the scheme was launched in October 2022, with INR 263.41 crore released and utilised as of March 31, 2026.
The information was shared by Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region Sukanta Majumdar in a written reply to an unstarred question by Lok Sabha MP Saurav Gogoi on Wednesday.
The minister said that, across the Northeast, 51 projects worth INR 6,443.62 crore had been sanctioned under PM-DevINE up to March 31, 2026. Of this, INR 2,534.29 crore had been released and utilised.

Responding to a query on the reported utilisation rate of around 34% in Meghalaya and Nagaland, Majumdar said that fund utilisation varies from project to project depending on factors such as the time required for tendering, award of works, mobilisation, site-specific and logistical challenges in hilly terrain, statutory clearances and other implementation-related issues.
He said that responsibility for project execution rests with the respective state governments and implementing agencies.
The minister added that the ministry monitors PM-DevINE projects through regular review meetings with state governments and implementing agencies, an online dashboard, geo-tagged and time-stamped photographs, field inspections, and visits by officials of the Ministry, the North Eastern Council, Field Technical Support Units, Project Quality Monitors and third-party technical inspection agencies.
According to the minister, these periodic reviews help identify bottlenecks and enable the ministry to advise state governments and implementing agencies to strengthen monitoring, expedite project execution, ensure timely utilisation of funds and adhere to implementation schedules.
