State gets first health and wellness center

Our Correspondent Kohima, Aug. 10 (EMN): Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Pangnyu Phom, on Aug. 9 officially launched the first health and wellness center in Nagaland at Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) Seikhazou in Kohima. Addressing the function, the minister said the UPHC of Duncan colony and Burma Camp in Dimapur will function as Health & Wellness center. The minister said this landmark project was in line with the partnership of government of India with their commitment to upgrade the entire sub center to health and wellness center by December 2022. He also enlightened the gathering that the main objective of Health and wellness center under “Ayushman Bharat” was to treat a host of communicable and non-communicable diseases so as to provide comprehensive primary health care to the community.   Phom advised the medical workers to utilize the service and requested the health center management committee to give full support to the staffs by taking ownership of the project and work towards a healthy community.
