Dimapur, May 22 (EMN): Nagaland GBs’ Federation (NGBF) has strongly condemned the action of Myanmar military (Tatmadaw) for continuing attacked on NSCN (K) and creating a war-like situation risking and affecting the lives of Nagas living in that region.
“The atrocities carried out against Nagas by the Myanmar’s military, bombard the areas near Chen Hoyat village and creating havoc in the villages are a matter of serious concern,” NGBF general secretary, Shikuto Zalipu, and the media secretary, Akhu Naga, stated in a joint statement.
The joint statement alleged that the unwarranted and arbitrary sanctions imposed at the behest of the military had resulted in disruption of supply of essential commodities. The federation expressed surprise that the offensive operation was carried out at a time when they are still under the ceasefire agreement which was signed in2012. It felt that such act of treason should be condemned by one and all including the international organisations.
“We want to declare that the Nagas are living in their God’s given land either in Myanmar or India. They are aboriginal people of the land. No outside forces should even think to invade forcibly. Nagas are one irrespective of geographical boundaries; we are united to protect our Naga Nation and our political right,’ the statement stated.
NGBF has appealed the international organisations to intervene immediately and stop further human right violations on the pretext of military operation.
Meanwhile, NGBF has condemned in a strongest term the gruesome killing of Arunachal Pradesh MLA including his son and nine others in an ambush by suspected militants in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh.
“No amount of justification can suffice such act of coward and outrageous offence,” the statement added. NGBF appealed to the authority to unearth the fact and punished the culprit as per the law. It has conveyed condolence to bereaved family and prayed for departed souls rest in peace.
