Nagaland GB Federation reiterated its position on the controversial issue of Centre’s move to recognize Nagamese as an official language. According to the Federation, “there are so many reasons for or against it but the fact is, as of now Nagamese language has becomes our main medium of communication. Even if not made official, the common people shall depend on Nagamese language as a means of communication; basically the Nagamese language has come a long way.” It then said that the people in rural areas have adapted it as their second mother’s tongue. “Therefore, NGBF felt till a suitable alternative common language is adapted; let Nagamese be our second official language besides English,” it added.
