Dimapur, Aug. 5(EMN): M SONIC, a band from Kolkata, who will be performing at the free concert organised by Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation (DAYO), has arrived Dimapur on Friday.

The concert will be held on the theme “Nagaland for Peace and Harmony” on Saturday (August 6) at DDSC stadium.

The members of the band Mainak Nandy (vocalist), Rana Ghosh (drummer), Prasun Bhattarcharya (guitarist) and Pradyuma Laskar (bassist), along with their manager Anirbam Adhikary, addressed a press conference on Friday at Happy Nest 22 in Dimapur.

The vocalist of the band Mainak Nandy updated that they will be performing about ten songs, mostly Hindi songs and depending on the time they have, they will also be performing one of their original songs called “Xeema”, an Assamese rock song which actually matches with the peace concert.

Nandy informed that the band has released three albums (Hindi and Assamese) and around six singles. He also requested all to come together and enjoy the concert considering it to be an awesome chance to bring back peace in the city.

It may be mentioned that their genre is Sufi/rock/bollywood. Band members who are visiting Nagaland for the first time expressed that the hospitality they have received from the people has been wonderful and they look forward to a “really nice concert.”

The manager shared that in a year the band do about 50 to 60 shows and 80% of the shows are in around the country while 20% of the shows are done in other countries.

Akhum, an executive member of DAYO, shared that they are expecting a huge turn and request the peace loving people to together and have fun.

It was informed that during the concert, limited table reservations will also be available while various food stalls will be open.

The show will start from 6:30 pm sharp.

He also informed that they will facilitate paid parking space at Tenyimi complex and in the parking area so that people can watch the show tension free. Further, he also shared that organising the free concert was a big challenge well but through the free concert they wish to tell the world that Nagas are living in peace and harmony and that they want to continue living in peace, and therefore, through the support of some “angel investors”, this show was possible.

Various local artistes like Tiameren Aier , Vinika Yepthomi, Samuel Konyak, Projection Crew, Coloured Keys, DGP Band and Mahila Band will share the stage.
