Nagaland: First Shamator district volleyball tournament concludes

Dimapur, Dec. 3 (EMN): The first district volleyball tournament organised by Shamator District Volleyball Association concluded at Shamator public ground on December 2.

Superintendent of Police Shamator, Amit Kumar, attended the closing ceremony as the special guest. Stating that sports unite all, he lauded the participants for coming from all parts of the district and appreciating the beauty of the game.

18 teams from different villages, towns and clubs participated in the tournament. Best libero was awarded to Lato from Pungrungrü village, best lifter was awarded to B Zungkum from Chassir village, best spiker was awarded to Yimto from Sotokur Village and player of the tournament was awarded to Shihoto from Chessore village, an update from DIPR stated.

Meanwhile, Chessore village lifted the winning trophy and was awarded INR 40,000, certificates, and a trophy.
