Kohima, June 2 (EMN):
In an act of kindness, various organisations and farmers from Pfutsero in Nagaland on Wednesday donated their produce to residents of Bayavü ward, as well as firewood to the Hindu Society, Kohima to be used for cremation to perform the last rites of the needy.

The Pfutsero Town Baptist Church, Kalos Society, Leshemi Women Welfare Society and the farmers from Pfütsero sent a truckload of variety of vegetables and firewood for the frontline workers, Bayavü Area Panchayat, Bayavü Covid Action Committee and the residents.

Chairman of Bayavü Area Panchayat, Khinyi Woch acknowledged the help and wished the people of Pfutsero well.

"As we receive the blessings with thanksgiving to our Almighty God, it is our prayer that God continue to bless your people with good health and your land with fertility, that the yield not only brings economic profits to your people but also helps you continue your charitable works in the future," he said.

He added that Kalos Society Pfütsero donated the firewood to the Hindu Society, Kohima to be used for cremation.

It may be mentioned that Nagaland has been under lockdown since May 14 in an attempt to curb the spread of Covid-19 in the state. The restrictive measures have been extended to June 11.
