An exposure trip to Shillong by St. Joseph University and a career counselling seminar by Tetso College were organised for students to enhance their prospects.

DIMAPUR — Various educational activities, including an exposure trip and a career counselling seminar, were recently organised for students by educational institutions in Nagaland.
St. Joseph University: An exposure trip was organised by St. Joseph University for the MA Rural Development 4th-semester students on the theme "Learning from the grassroots" from March 16 to the 20th.
According to an update, the primary objective of the trip was to provide students with practical insights into rural development practices, community engagement, and grassroots-level interventions.

A total of 21 students were accompanied and supervised by Kezhakhoto Chalieu and Dr. Janet Gonmei, assistant professors.
The group visited Mawdun Village in Meghalaya, a model village adopted by the Green Tech Foundation. They learned about community participation that played a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance and initiatives such as waste management, afforestation, and clean surroundings. The students learned about the role of non-governmental organisations in empowering rural communities and promoting sustainability.
They also visited Reach Shillong Ministries, an organisation dedicated to supporting children and women in need of care and protection.

Tetso College: The Career Counselling and Placement Cell of Tetso College and Study Next, a Dimapur-based career guidance centre organised a day-long seminar on “Entrepreneurship and leadership” for the final-year students of Tetso College on Thursday.
Ranjan K Baruah, career mentor and skill trainer and founder of the North East Youth Foundation, was the resource person. He mentioned the differences between entrepreneurship and traditional business and how youths from Nagaland can take advantage of being an entrepreneur.
The resource person focused on 21st-century skills, life skills, and selling skills, apart from other topics. He appealed to the students to think critically and think out of the box if they want to be ahead of their peers.
Sandip Saha, Director of Study Next, briefed the gathering on the Master of Business Administration advantage and informed the students about the current job market.
Participation certificates were distributed to all the participants at the end of the programme, which was supported by the International Institute of Business Studies (IIBS), Bangalore.
