Dimapur, April 22 (EMN): The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) on Friday called off its indefinite democratic agitation, a day after it began the protest in Kohima, on receiving official letter from the state government about the Cabinet’s approval to fulfil its demands.

The state Cabinet on Thursday agreed in principle to include the exempted departments and posts in the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) Regulation, 2020, as demanded by the ENSF.

In a press, the federation acknowledged the state government led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio ‘for considering its legitimate demand placed in the larger interest of the (job) aspirants in particular and the Nagas in general’.

“The federation further appeal the state government to expedite the process in making NSSB operational at the earliest possible time,” it stated.

For the uninitiated, the ENSF began its indefinite agitation on April 21 following the lapse of its 30-day ultimatum to the state government, before the Cabinet agreed to address its demands at a meeting held on the same day.
