Dimapur, April 22 (EMN): Eastern Bible College (EBC), Dimapur, has become an integral part of training on Christian missionaries for the whole of India and National Christian Council (NCC) leaders as well as for the member of churches and organisations throughout the country.

This was announced by the founder president of National Christian Council (NCC), Dr. Sam Paul, during a press conference held at Eastern Bible College, Dimapur, on April 22.

Dr. Paul stated that EBC would serve as a beacon of light for the whole country and Asia and for other parts of the world too. He has appealed to the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, to take special initiative to bring peace and harmony in the region and to ensure development takes place in Nagaland.

“The necessity of peace is imminent and peace is always real and possible when justice is rendered to the persons concerned.” Paul stated.

Paul went on to say that budget allocations for more infrastructure creation and job accessibility would reduce the need for migration of Northeast people to other parts. He, therefore, appealed to all the chief ministers of Northeast region including the Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, to see that Northeast region thrives with needed opportunities for job seekers.

When queried about the rising religious intolerance in India, Dr. Paul has termed it ‘dangerous’ and a threat to the democracy. In this regard, he appealed to the fundamentalist groups to uphold the great tradition of Vasudeva Kutumbakam of India.
