DIMAPUR— As part of Birgitte Damberg’s -- a Norwegian vocalist, lyricist -- upcoming album "What If," in collaboration with Easterine Kire, the duo is all set to release their third single "My Brother Tree".

An update issued on Wednesday informed that Damberg along with her husband Åsmund Reistad -- producer and arranger -- is working on yet another single with Kire.

The update from Damberg read: Kire and Damberg are both fascinated by trees. When Kire posted a picture of a tree on Facebook, Damberg suggested that she write a poem about it. When Easterine sent me the poem, I immediately thought that the tree should have its own waltz. I like it when a big tree gets wind in its leaves and starts swaying. I'm sure it sways in a waltz rhythm.

"My Brother Tree" is recorded with a simple accompaniment consisting of piano and bass. The minor key in combination with Damberg's dark vocals and the beautiful mandolin theme evocates associations to both an Eastern European tonal language as well as to Portuguese fado music.

‘Easterine Kire and I got in touch after she happened to hear my music on the internet. She was very excited about my songs, and we agreed to do a project together. We literally found a good tone, and the collaboration has developed into a close and beautiful friendship’, Damberg in the update shared.
