Nagaland earns INR 1.6 cr. from 3 guesthouses

Nagaland state’s guesthouses in Shillong, Kolkata and Guwahati, including Medical Lodge near Down Town Hospital in Guwahati, generated revenue of more than INR 1.6 crore in 2019.

According to department of Home Affairs’ annual administrative report 2019-2020 that was tabled during the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, a total amount of INR 1,62,92, 080 was generated from the three Nagaland Houses and the Medical Lodge in Guwahati.

Revenue was generated from dormitory and room rents, Inner Line Permit, canteen/kitchen, conference hall, etc. The revenue generation from ILP (all guest houses) alone amounted to INR 6,56,450.

Nagaland House, Kolkata (Shakespeare Sarani and Salt Lake) earned highest with a total income of INR 1,09,08400 from April 2019 to December 2019. The state’s guesthouse at Shakespear Sarani hosted 5510 guests while the one at Salt Lake accommodated 1807 guests between April and December in 2019.

A total of INR 46, 41,730 was collected from seat rent, ILP, and catering rent from canteen/kitchen at Nagaland House, Guwahati (Khanapara). Out of the total amount, INR 14,18,880 was generated from seat rent at Medical Lodge from January 2019 to November 2019. The department of Home Affairs also informed that INR 7,41,950 was earned from the Nagaland House, Shillong from December 2018 to November 2019.
