Nagaland DGP encourages police personnel to avail Covid vaccine

DGP Nagaland administered the first dose of COVID vaccination
TJ Longkumer being administered Covid-19 vaccine in Kohima on February 24.

Dimapur, Feb. 24 (EMN): As required by the nature of police duty and services to be prepared against Covid-19 pandemic, Nagaland Director General of Police (DGP) TJ Longkumer encouraged all ranks and files to undergo vaccination.

Longkumer stated this during a Covid-19 vaccination and sensitisation programme organised at the Police Headquarters (PHQ) on February 24. A DIPR report stated that Longkumer was administered the first dose during the vaccination drive.

It added that a total of 100 police personnel consisting of officers and men were vaccinated during the drive.

The vaccination programme was organised by Limasunep Jamir, IGP (Range), while the nodal officer for Covid-19 related activities for the Police department was conducted by Dr. John Khuvung, RMO.

It stated that the sensitisation of police personnel was conducted by the chief medical officer (CMO), Kohima, Dr. Vezokholu and the deputy CMO and DIO Dr. Rupert Peseyie. The programme was chaired by R Vikram Ezung, Assistant Inspector General of Police (OPS).
